Job Description
POSITION TITLE:
Plant Human Resources Manager POSITION LOCATION: Scott City, MO

POSITION REPORTS TO: Corporate HR Executive POSITION SUPERVISES: HR Generalist(s)

FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plant Human Resources Manager, under the direction of the Corporate Human Resources Executive, is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the operations team. In alignment with the organizations overall business strategy and HR initiatives, the Plant Human Resources Manager will focus on talent management, recruitment and retention, plant payroll and benefits administration, training and development, succession planning, workplace culture, employee relations and engagement and other HR projects as assigned. The Plant Human Resources Manager will serve as a coach and trusted confidant to the Plant Manager and plant leadership team and all operations employees and will be responsible for the effective execution of human resource initiatives, processes and programs that support the strategic goals and objectives of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Workforce/Succession Planning
* Analyze workforce demographics to prioritize recruitment and retention strategies. Executes strategic recruitment and retention plans designed to support operational effectiveness.
* Improves effectiveness against budgeted headcount, including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and on-boarding processes.
* Develops recruiting strategies, sources and methods to identify qualified candidates. * Documents and updates essential job functions and trains respective managers and team leaders on legal and current interviewing and selection procedures.
* Develops succession planning, timeframe and related employee development and training programs to ensure all leadership positions have an internal succession plan.
* Prioritizes succession planning by demographics and key retention risks.
* Monitors successor development plans to address identified gaps.
* Measure and report on effectiveness of plan, adjust as necessary on an annual basis.
* The employee is required to maintain regular, reliable and predictable attendance and punctuality.

Employee Relations
* Provides guidance and support to plant management personnel and leads a proactive employee’s relations approach to improve employee engagement and to prevent employment liability.
* Builds value-added relationships with all levels of management and plant personnel and works collaboratively to communicate best practices and resolves workforce issues.
* Ensures that situational employee relations are administered fairly and equitably across the operations group.
* Identifies employee relations trends for leadership opportunities.
* Serves as a trusted advisor to the Plant Manager and confidant to the Corporate HR * * * Executive providing updates on significant employee relations matters.
* Supports the management group in developing and creating a culture that enables all employees to successfully perform and meet organizational goals and objectives.
* Executes employee investigations for policy violations and provides corrective action plans to resolve. Confirms that company policies and practices remain legally compliant and are administered consistently for assigned areas of responsibilities.

Training & Development
* Oversee plant performance management program in support of the company’s strategic goals; identifies and executes programs improvements.
* Identifies top performers and ensures that programs are developed, initiated and implemented to retain talent.
* Develops and implements programs to achieve annual targeted improvements in voluntary turnover by implementing employee engagement programs across the operations.
* Serves as the Plant Managers “people expert” as it relates to talent assessment and recommendations for improvement.
* Develops and executes strategic operations training programs to support process and skill development as the workforce (management, team leaders and production employees) evolve.
* Serves as facilitator for Key Performance Indicator (Metrics) program and related reports for respective departments. Identifies and recommends alternatives for improved organizational performance.

Compensation/Benefits

* Approvals all plant payroll activities affecting operations employees in alignment with existing operational strategy and budgeted guidelines.
* Administers on-going wage analysis across the operations group to ensure pay equity.
* In conjunction with the Corporate Human Resources Executive, conducts external compensation studies and provides recommendations for change or adjustments to ensure equity. Measures and reports the effectiveness of plans and adjust as necessary on an on-going basis.

Compliance
* Ensure that assigned human resources responsibilities are compliant with applicable local, state and federal laws and industry regulations including, but not limited to, Title VII, ADA/ADAAA, EEOC, Immigration Reform and Control Act, FMLA, USERRA, NLRA, WARN Act, HIPAA, OSHA, Drug-Free Workplace Act, ACA and Section 125.
Keeps abreast of the latest legislative and regulatory changes and understand their impact on assigned responsibilities and the organization.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources field required. MBA a plus.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Ten (10) years’ experience in HR capacity in a manufacturing environment.

Previous supervisory experience required.

CERTIFICATION:
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation preferred.

* Ability to work across functional lines seamlessly.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ADP HRB.
* High level of integrity and able to deal effectively with employees at all levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position involves frequent (up to 5 hours per day) sitting and moving around an office and manufacturing environment. The work environment is climate controlled with low noise levels.

Work will involve frequent operation of standard office equipment and a computer that requires repetitive typing motion and viewing a monitor.
